Day School Educational Technology / Online Learning

AVI CHAI continues to seek new and innovative ways to apply technology to enhancing teaching Judaic studies in day schools. To that end, the Foundation has provided seed funding for a diverse range of projects with the ultimate goal of learning about, and identifying promising educational technology initiatives for Jewish education.

AVI CHAI’s work in online learning seeks to improve the quality of day school education by increasing individualized data-based instruction and enabling students to develop skills and ways of thinking needed in the 21st century as well as to bring down the cost of education. Our three-pronged approach works to 1) support the adoption of online courses at established Jewish day schools; 2) support entrepreneurs experimenting with the model of a day school in service of both educational and cost-saving goals via the incorporation of online and blended learning and other 21st century learning ideas; and 3) stimulate the development of Judaic studies offerings online at both the middle and high school levels.
