Efforts are currently underway which will see, over the coming two years, core Jewish library collections created and/or expanded in FSU libraries (up to 20 locations, with 50 to 100 books per location paid for on a subsidized basis, including regional public and Jewish libraries). Following the initial year of activity, in which the most active libraries (and librarians) are identified, planned efforts include the organization of three-day seminars to further introduce, motivate, and heighten interest of participating libraries in Jewish/Israeli literature, possibly in conjunction with local Jewish community centers, synagogues, and other cultural programs.
AVI CHAI concluded its general grant making on December 31, 2019.
