Daber strengthens training, programming and leadership development in Hebrew language and Israel education at Ramah camps. Prior to the camp season, select Ramah staff members from each Ramah camp, known as Daber Fellows, participate in specialized training developed by experts in Hebrew as a second language. During the summer, they then work to raise the profile of Hebrew language at camp through providing games and activities that will ease campers’ comfort in using conversational Hebrew. The Israeli staff cohorts (shlichim) are also involved to maximize the effectiveness of this Hebrew language program.
