The Innovation Fund for Jewish Impact yields an important field resource by identifying, testing, and publicizing the availability of the most engaging and creative programs developed by Jewish educators for camps to implement during the summer. Starting in summer 2017 and continuing through summer 2019, the Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) offered grants of $5,000-$10,000 to selected Jewish content developers to test their program designs – some existing, some newly conceived – with campers and staff across a wide range of camps. The selection of programs to pilot and evaluate is guided by a committee of camp educational directors, among others, and is geared toward programs that can make a lasting Jewish impact and might be adapted by multiple camps.
Successful programs and exemplary resource providers – as gauged through formal reports evaluating their impact – are promoted on . Listings include each program’s educational goals, the implementation experience of the piloting camps, the results, and detailed recommendations for adaptation.
AVI CHAI concluded its general grant making on December 31, 2019.
