The Pardes Day School Educators Program (PEP), the flagship program of The Pardes Center for Jewish Educators (PCJE), is a highly selective two-year teacher training program that combines intensive classical Jewish text study with a Masters of Jewish Education (MJEd) from Hebrew College. Through the PEP—and against the backdrop of the open, inclusive learning community of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies—Judaic Studies teachers and experiential Jewish educators and leaders are empowered to serve as knowledgeable, skilled, reflective and passionate professionals. The program requires participants to make a minimum three-year commitment to teaching Jewish studies in a day school.
Now in its 18th cohort, PEP alumni comprise an exceptional network of passionate and talented Judaic Studies teachers and administrators who expose thousands of students every year to the richness of classical Jewish texts and help them strengthen their Jewish identities. Currently, PEP has a total of 157 graduates, of which 101 are currently working in Jewish education. The PCJE offers in-service support, professional development opportunities and curricular programming in North America for PEP alumni and their colleagues in the field of day school education.
