The Principals' Center – Harvard University

The Principals’ Center at Harvard University, one of many Harvard Summer Institutes, offers two different one-week summer institutes for Day School principals and aspiring principals to enhance their ability to improve their schools’ quality and to advance their Judaic mission. The Art of Leadership (AOL) institute is designed for those with 1–5 years of leadership experience. The Leadership: An Evolving Vision (LEV) institute is for those with more than five years of leadership experience.
The AVI CHAI Foundation supports all expenses, except travel, for participants selected for both programs and has developed year-long programing around the summer institute to further help Day Dchool leaders improve their students’ learning and Jewish experiences and prioritize their own professional growth. This includes pre-institute work; additional evening sessions during the Institute to apply the day’s learning to the day school context; and follow-up during the following academic year, including executing a significant Jewish mission/vision project at school. Additional sessions and project management support is provided by Educannon Consulting.
Over the past 22 years, a total of 566 AVI CHAI-sponsored day school leaders have participated in AOL and LEV.
