Last week, AVI CHAI held a webinar featuring two case studies released by the Foundation. These cases discuss the experiences of two Jewish day schools experimenting with blended/online learning models. The webinar was presented by the cases’ author, Dr. Leslie Santee Siskin of New York University’s Institute for Education and Social Policy, and AVI CHAI Senior Program Officer Rachel Mohl Abrahams.
The first case study discussed was: “Zafon Elementary School: A Station-Rotation Model for Supporting 21st Century Learning,” an Orthodox, pre-K through 2nd grade school which opened in 2012 with blended learning as a core element of its design. The second was: “Ma’arav High School: An Organic Approach to Implementing Blended Learning in an Established School,” which looks at a long-established Orthodox high school that is bringing online/blended learning into the school.
